Jesuit dropped a pair of non-district games on Monday and Tuesday, falling at home to Newman Smith, 70-55 before a 58-43 setback to Wylie at the Tommy Thomas Memorial Showcase at The Colony. The Rangers are set to conclude a three-game week on Saturday on a road trip to Mansfield to battle Summit prior to a four-game home stand next week, which will include the 57
th Annual Knights of Columbus Bob Stras Dallas Classic Tournament.

Jesuit shot 41.9 percent from the floor, but were unable to counter a Trojan attack that scored 26 points in the paint and secured 33 free-throw attempts. The Rangers were narrowly out-rebounded by Newman Smith, 29-27, but turned the ball over 20 times, which led to 25 Newman Smith points.

In the opening quarter, Jesuit used a five-point swing on a three-pointer by Hatzmann and layup by Lynch to cut an eight-point deficit into a one-possession game. Newman Smith built a double-digit lead with 5:46 remaining in the first half, but the Rangers battled back to tie the game heading into halftime on a Fastbreak layup by Lynch off of a feed from Perryman.

The two teams traded leads in the third before Newman Smith's Bobby Smith III buried a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Trojans the lead heading into the fourth. The Rangers were unable to topple that lead as Newman Smith used a 21-11 advantage in the fourth to clinch the win.

Darryl Brown scored a career-high 18 points, shooting 7-of-15 from the floor while dragging down four rebounds against the Pirates. However, the Rangers were outscored by 14 in the second half and were limited to five points in the fourth quarter as Wylie walked out of The Colony with a 58-43 win over Jesuit.

The Rangers scored 20 points in the paint while adding 15 points off of turnovers, but were held to a 34-percent clip from the floor and a 6-of-22 shooting percentage outside the arc while Wylie saw three players score in double digits. Jesuit out-rebounded Wylie, 29-26 as junior

A slow first quarter was punctuated by Wylie on a buzzer-beating three pointer which sent the Pirates into the second quarter leading 13-10. Wylie built a six-point lead with 7:22 remaining in the half, but a traditional three-point play dunk by Brown on a feed from Perryman kickstarted the Ranger rally.

Jesuit would take its first lead of the second quarter with 2:54 remaining on a layup by Perryman, a lead which was traded on a jumper in the paint by Wylie followed by a three-pointer by senior
Eli Steger. Wylie hit another buzzer-beating three-pointer to take a 29-28 lead into halftime.

A three-pointer by Perryman would give Jesuit an early lead in the third, but Wylie would flip the script and take a two-possession lead into the fourth quarter before keeping the Rangers away from the basket over the final eight minutes of the game.
