Game Recap: Hockey - Varsity Gold |

Hockey Falls to Coppell on Senior Night

On a day in which the Jesuit Dallas hockey program celebrated the nine members of the senior class, the Rangers dropped a 6-4 decision to the Coppell Cowboys on Jan. 31 at the StarCenter in Richardson, Texas. Four goals from the Dragojevic brothers were not enough to overcome a six-goal outing from Coppell's Trevor More as the Rangers face the final two games of the regular season with a chance to clinch a playoff berth next week against Allen.

Senior JonMichael Dragojevic and sophomore Seth Dragojevic scored two goals each as JonMichael finished the game with a team-leading four points. Senior Joseph Van Beek added an assist as Seth Dragojevic finished the game with three points, adding an assist to his two-goal outing. Senior goalkeeper Caden Rupnow made 14 saves in the loss.

Coppell took a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period after a goal by Seth Dragojevic at the 8:22 mark was met by a pair of tallies in the final five minutes of the opening stanza. Moore would score his third of the game and send the Cowboys to a 3-1 lead before a feed from Van Beek to JonMichael Dragojevic cut the lead back to one. Moore and Dragojevic traded goals again down the stretch of the second period to send Coppell into the third holding a 4-3 lead.

At the 5:29 mark in the third, Seth Dragojevic scored to tie the game at 4-4. However, Moore would score two unassisted goals over the final five minutes of the contest to clinch the win for the Cowboys. Prior to puck drop, Jesuit hockey honored the members of its senior class; Ivan Belikov, Bryce Clark, JonMichael Dragojevic, Andrew McBey, Caden Rupnow, Joseph Van Beek, Matthew Wrobel and Nicholas Zang.

Jesuit Dallas will next head into the final two games of the regular season, beginning with a matchup against Allen on Feb. 7. The regular season finale will take place on Feb. 14 as Jesuit battles Highland Park in Richardson.
