A resounding offensive effort kept Jesuit unbeaten on the year as the Rangers opened a two-game weekend road trip with a 13-6 win over Austin on Feb. 15. Senior
Jacob Jackson secured his second consecutive four-goal game as one of six goal scorers that helped Jesuit move to 4-0 on the season.

Jackson finished the contest with a team-leading seven points, adding three assists to his four goals. The senior now has 11 goals on the year and five assists, opening the year with three consecutive hat tricks. Sophomore
Sam Teachout secured his second hat trick of the season with three goals and an assist as senior
Tommy Hovivian and
Peter Buell scored two goals apiece. Junior
Billy Metz and sophomore
Henry Suarez each scored to complete the scoring for the Blue and Gold.

Junior
Jack Selner led the charge defensively with seven ground balls and three caused turnovers. Additional turnovers were caused by Hovivian, Buell, seniors
Matthew Priddy and
Andrew Patton alongside junior
Drew Martin as Hovivian and Suarez snagged five ground balls each. Senior
William Moran secured six saves as the Rangers were able to clear the ball in 27-of-28 opportunities while winning 16-of-23 faceoffs.

Hovivian scored two goals in the Rangers' game-opening run which saw Jesuit take a 4-0 lead with 6:54 remaining in the second quarter. Austin finally scored its first goal of the contest with 6:02 remaining in the second, but goals by Teachout and Metz sent the two teams into the halftime with Jesuit holding a dominating, 6-1 lead.

In the third quarter, Austin's offense secured momentum with four goals, but the Rangers continued to keep the pressure on the Maroons. Jackson scored unassisted at the 5:04 mark, Suarez added his first goal of the season off a faceoff win with 3:34 remaining in the third before Buell scored at the 2:33 mark to build the lead to six. Austin scored twice over the next 90 seconds, but a tally by Jackson with seven seconds remaining in the quarter sent Jesuit into the fourth with a five-goal lead.

Jesuit clinched the game with three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter on two scores from Jackson and a tally by Teachout. The Rangers outshot the Maroons, 15-1 in the fourth quarter, did not allow Austin H.S. to secure a ground-ball and earned three extra-man opportunities.

The Rangers will close the weekend road trip against Lake Travis on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Austin, Texas. Jesuit Dallas improved to 4-0 on the year due to a forfeiture win against Colleyville in a game originally scheduled for Feb. 13 at Postell Stadium.
