Jesuit soccer dropped a 1-0 decision to McKinney Boyd on the road Feb. 22, despite out-shooting the Broncos, 14-11. The Rangers head into the homestretch of the season still in pursuit of their first district victory but showed distinct signs of improvement at McKinney Boyd H.S. on Friday evening.

McKinney Boyd scored the game's lone goal early in the proceedings, notching tally in the 4th minute off of an own goal on a free kick. Jesuit mounted a rally late in the period as the Blue and Gold launched six shots over a four-minute span, but attempts by Shea, Sierra and Ruggiero were turned aside. Chris Flabiano, was blocked right before halftime to send the game into the break tied, 1-1.

Jesuit controlled the pace of the game in the second half as the Rangers outshot the Broncos, 7-3. A shot by Ruggiero in the 50th minute was saved by the Boyd goalkeeper, starting a run of six shots by Jesuit over the final 30 minutes that provided momentum for the Rangers but was unable to find the game-tying goal.
