Jesuit Dallas lacrosse opened the season with a resounding, 19-3 win over Allen on Friday at Curtis Middle School. The Rangers scored on nine of their first 11 possessions of the game en route to a dominating, 9-1 first quarter advantage. Eight members of the Jesuit lineup scored goals as the Rangers raced to a strong start to the 2019 season, one in which the Rangers will hope to claim their third state title in program history.

Peter Buell opened his senior season with a six-goal performance, closing the contest with a team-leading eight points. Senior
Jacob Jackson added four goals, sophomore
Sam Teachout racked up three goals and senior
Matthew Priddy scored a pair of goals. Freshman

Henry Suarez secured a team-leading nine groundballs while winning 12-of-14 faceoffs. Juniors
Drew Martin and
Jack Selner were a force defensively, combining for seven caused turnovers while senior
William Moran picked up his first win of the year with 10 saves on the day. Overall, Jesuit went 20-for-25 on faceoffs, including a 6-for-7 clip by sophomore
Mason Chandler and a 2-for-4 success rate by freshman
Will Reading. Martin would add five groundballs as Chandler, Selner, Metz and junior
Alex Chen secured three ground balls each.

Buell scored Jesuit's first goal of the season 52 seconds into the first quarter, followed by a tally from Allen a minute later. However, Jesuit took firm control of the game with a 13-goal run lasting from the 10:11 mark of the first quarter until the halftime buzzer. The Rangers scored on nine of their 13 first-quarter possessions to take a dominant lead heading into the second quarter. Teachout recorded a first quarter hat trick to pace the Rangers as five members of the Jesuit lineup scored in the opening 12 minutes.

The goal-scoring onslaught continued into the second quarter, where Jackson, Priddy, Hobbs, Buell and Metz added to the score column. Allen scored the first goal of the second half to snap the Jesuit run, but Buell completed his career performance to take a 14-goal lead with 30 seconds remaining in the fourth. Jesuit's defense shut out Allen in the fourth as goals from Jackson and Starr completed the victory.

Jesuit will travel to The Woodlands on Saturday to battle the reigning Texas High School Lacrosse League Division I State Champions at 5:30 p.m. The Rangers will open the home slate on Wednesday, Feb. 13, when Jesuit hosts Colleyville.
