Jesuit opened a three-game stint at the 2019 Jesuit Lacrosse Invitational with an 11-8 win over Jesuit Tampa on Mar. 22 in Miami, Florida. Anchored by a five-goal performance from senior
Jacob Jackson, Jesuit remains unbeaten on the year, moving to 9-0 on the season ahead of a Saturday doubleheader against Canisius (N.Y.) and Gonzaga (D.C.).

Tyler Gazzam caused two turnovers each as Jesuit (9-0) forced nine turnovers while securing 28 ground balls compared to 18 by Jesuit Tampa. The Ranger defense forced three failed clears and limited Tampa to 11 shots to take a 6-4 lead.

After Jesuit Tampa secured the game-opening goal, Jesuit ripped off three unanswered goals to close out the first quarter on tallies from Metz, Jackson and Rilley. Two goals by Tampa's Tucker Gray tied the game before two goals from Jackson and a goal from Rose sent Jesuit into the halftime break with two goals.

Jesuit was outscored, 3-2 in the third quarter on goals from Buell and Priddy, as the tally from Priddy with 53 seconds left in the third sparked a game-changing, four-goal run which saw Jackson tally his fourth and fifth goals alongside tallies from Priddy and Hovivian. Jesuit only allowed one goal in the fourth as the Ranger defense was able to lock down on the Tigers down the stretch for the win.

The Rangers will battle Canisius at 10 a.m. on Saturday before closing out the tournament against nationally-ranked Gonzaga at 2:15 p.m. Jesuit will return to Postell Stadium after the two-day tournament for a season-closing run which is highlighted by three home games in five days.
