Jesuit Dallas trailed Allen, 5-0, in the second inning but battled back with one run in the third, four in the fifth and three in the seventh to force extra innings. However, three runs by Allen in the top of the eighth doomed the Rangers in an 11-8 setback to the Eagles on Tuesday at Wright Field.

Each of Jesuit's top five batters drove in at least one run and were led by junior
Jalon Mack, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a double. Senior
Jack Lynch entered as a pinch hitter during Jesuit's seventh-inning rally, lacing a double down the left field line that tied the game. Senior
Caden Carlson went 2-for-3 with two runs and a walk while sophomore
Jordan Lawlar crushed an RBI triple to deep right center field to kickstart the Jesuit rally. Sophomore

Garrett Reuben drove in the remainder of Jesuit's runs.

Matthew Cox entered the game in the fifth and provided the work on the mound which led to the opportunity for Jesuit to cut into Allen's lead. The junior threw four innings of quality work, striking out only one batter but holding the Eagles to five hits. Junior
Ryan Messick threw four innings in his fifth start of the season, striking out five batters.

Allen scored early in the contest as three first inning errors by the Rangers resulted in three runs for the Eagles. In the second inning, three more hits by the Eagles would result in two more runs, allowing Allen to take a 5-0 lead. Eagle starting pitcher Brett Tanksley controlled the Ranger bats in the early portion of the game, holding Jesuit without a hit over the first two innings.

In the bottom of the third, Carlson recorded Jesuit's first hit of the game on a single to right. A groundout by Chavez moved Carlson to second before Boyle crushed a single that landed fair down the right field line to open the scoring for Jesuit. Allen added runs in the fourth and fifth inning to take a 7-1 lead into the bottom of the fifth.

The Rangers would get back into the game with four runs on three hits in the bottom of the fifth. Sophomore
Gavin Perryman opened the inning with a single to right before a walk to Carlson put runners at first and second. Perryman scored on an Allen error before Carlson scored on a double steal. Lawlar cracked his third triple of the season to deep right center field, scoring Chavez before a groundout to short by Mack brought Lawlar home to cut the lead to five.

Jesuit continued to battle after Allen scored one in the seventh, starting another key rally after inning-opening walks to Boyle and Lawlar. Mack cracked a deep double to left field, which one-hopped off the wall and scored Lawlar to cut the lead to two runs. Reuben crushed a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Boyle to bring the Rangers to within one run before Lynch cracked a double that landed in fair territory, tying the game as Mack crossed home plate. Allen would score three runs on three hits and one Jesuit error in the top of the eighth as the Rangers were retired in order in the bottom of the frame.

The Rangers and Eagles will close their regular season series on Friday at Allen H.S. Jesuit will return to Wright Field on Saturday afternoon for a 12 p.m. clash against non-district rival J.J. Pearce.
