Jesuit lacrosse erupted for a 6-0 lead early in the second quarter en route to a decisive, 11-5 win over Frisco in the first round of the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) Division I State Tournament on Monday at Postell Stadium. The Rangers will advance to face Memorial or Vandegrift in the super regional round.

William Moran was a key role player for he Rangers, making 10 saves in the cage while Suarez added a 13-for-16 clip at the faceoff "x" while securing a team-leading 11 ground balls. Freshman
Tyler Gazzam forced two turnovers as the Jesuit midfield contingent helped the team convert 30-of-35 clear attempts while forcing eight failed clears by the Black Bears.

Metz scored one minute into the first quarter to open the scoring as tallies from Teachout and Priddy blossomed the lead to three with six minutes remaining through the first. Hobbs scored with 5;23 remaining in the quarter before Rose ripped a shot past the Frisco netminder at the buzzer to hand Jesuit a 6-0 lead heading into the second quarter.

Suarez took the first faceoff of the second quarter to the Frisco cage for Jesuit's seventh goal of the game before Jackson scored his first of the game with 38 seconds in the half to help Jesuit shake off two unanswered goals by Frisco and send the game into halftime with Jesuit holding an 8-2 lead.

The Rangers continued their stellar offensive prowess in the third quarter, outscoring Frisco, 3-1 to keep a comfortable lead going into the fourth. Jesuit would not score in the fourth, but would keep Frisco away from the lead to clinch the win.
