The Rangers scored six runs in the first inning and never looked back en route to a dominant, 10-0 win over Sachse in the decisive third game of the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region 2-6A Bi-District Round on Saturday in Allen, Texas. Jesuit saw both a stellar group of performances from the top of the order along with a dominant showing on the mound to punch its ticket to the second round of the UIL State Tournament.

Garrett Reuben and junior pinch runner

Â

Â
Perryman made quick work of the Mustangs in his stellar, five-inning outing, clinching the win for the Rangers in 46 pitches, averaging just shy of 10 pitches per inning. Sachse put two runners aboard in the first, but Perryman forced an inning-ending groundout to work his way out of the jam. The Mustangs threatened again, placing a runner aboard with in the bottom of the third, but a 4-6-3 double play ended the inning. Perryman would retire the Sachse fourth in order before finishing off the Mustangs in the fifth.

Jesuit will move on to play Rockwall in the UIL Area Round. Rockwall defeated Copperas Cove in three games, winning the first game 8-7 before Copperas Cove forced a third game with a 5-4, comeback win on Saturday afternoon. Rockwall run-ruled Copperas Cove, 15-1, to decisively win the third game and advance to the area round. Jesuit and Rockwall met once this season on Mar. 7 in the Highland Park Classic, a contest won by Jesuit, 7-3 as the Rangers jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings and never looked back.
Â
Game locations and times will be determined after the area round matchup is solidified. With Saturday's victory, Jesuit advances to the area round for the ninth consecutive season as the Rangers have captured the first round series every year since 2010.
