A hat trick by sophomore
Alec Rahlfs sent Jesuit Dallas past division-leading Frisco, 5-3, on Thursday at the Richardson StarCenter. The Rangers entered the third period tied with Frisco, 2-2, but Jesuit closed the matchup with three goals in the third period to score a critical win and move closer to clinching a playoff berth heading into the final three weeks of the season.

Frisco held a 2-1 lead with 5:03 remaining in the second period, responding to Rahlfs' unassisted first period goal with a pair of unanswered tallies, but Boss capitalized on a power-play to score with 2:20 remaining in the second to send the game into the third tied, 2-2. Neel fed Rahlfs three minutes into the third for the go-ahead goal before Rahlfs completed the hat trick off of a feed by Sweda to give Jesuit a critical insurance goal.

The Rangers withstood a goal by Frisco moments after Rahlfs' third tally before McCown put the game away with a goal assisted by Phillips with 1:50 left.

Jesuit will begin the final stretch of the regular season next Thursday against Highland Park. The Rangers will enter Thursday's battle with the Scots with an eight-point lead in the standings for second place in the district and have the opportunity to clinch one of the top two seeds in the division with a victory. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. at the Richardson StarCenter.
