Jesuit Finishes Regular Season with Overtime Win Against McKinney: Senior Chase Phillips scored with 21 seconds remaining in overtime, sending Jesuit to a regular season-closing, 5-4 win over McKinney on Thursday at the StarCenter in McKinney. The Rangers will play Southlake Carroll in the AT&T Metroplex Hockey League City Tournament semifinal, a matchup set for 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20.
Five different Rangers scored against McKinney as senior Luke Skaggs and junior Miles Dikun joined sophomores Santiago Diaz and Nick Boss in the scoring column. Senior Jack Rahlfs made 20 saves, including four stops in overtime, to score the victory. Phillips finished the game with two points, adding an assist on Diaz's game-opening score while sophomore Matthew Craycraft picked up a team-leading two assists. Juniors J.P. Moore and Chase Neel scored Jesuit's final two assists.
Scouting Southlake Carroll: The Dragons finished the regular season with two straight wins to earn the No. 3 seed, upending Allen, 5-4, on Feb. 13. Southlake Carroll picked up a key, 7-4 win over Highland Park on Feb. 6 to keep within striking distance before securing the playoff-clinching win last Thursday. Cade Wood led the charge with a hat trick against Allen while Mitchell Evans made 27 saves for the Dragons.
Senior Night Set for Thursday: The Ranger hockey program will honor the five senior members of the 2019-20 team prior to puck drop on Thursday. Seniors Bennett Croskey, Chase Peppard, Chase Phillips, Jack Rahlfs and Luke Skaggs will be recognized for their contributions to the hockey program.
Last Time They Met: A hat trick by junior Seth Dragojevic highlighted another impressive offensive outing by the Jesuit Dallas hockey team as the Rangers defeated Southlake Carroll, 10-3, on Thursday at the Euless StarCenter. Jesuit earned its second straight double-digit scoring performance with the win as Dragojevic secured the Rangers' third hat trick over the last two weeks.
Junior James McCown and sophomore Matthew Craycraft scored two goals each for the Rangers as Nick Boss, Santiago Diaz and Chase Phillips closed out Jesuit's scoring column. Dragojevic concluded the game as the team's leading scorer with five points as Phillips and junior Miles Dikun added two assists each. Jack Rahlfs scored an assist alongside J.P. Moore, Chase Neel, Luke Skaggs and Derek Zhang. Rahlfs added 42 saves, stopping a Southlake Carroll offense that scored seven goals in the last meeting between the two teams on Nov. 14.
