The Rangers rebounded from a 3-3 tie with Forney to upend Princeton, 6-3, on the second day of the Jesuit Dallas Baseball Classic at Wright Field. Jesuit is 2-1-1 after two days at the tournament and will host two more contests at Wright Field on Saturday to close out the event.

Against Princeton, junior
David Day earned his first varsity win with a five-inning performance highlighted by 11 strikeouts. Senior
Matthew Cox entered in the sixth and struck out the side to pick up his first save of the year. Thee Ranger offense was led by senior
Jalon Mack, who went 3-for-3 with three RBI. Senior
Braxton Boyle and
Jordan Lawlar each hit a double as junior
Gavin Perryman drove in a run.

Princeton scored two runs in the top of the first, but Jesuit struck back with two runs in the second. Mack came home on a wild pitch for Jesuit's first run of the game before Perryman stole home on a dropped third strike to tie the game up. After Princeton retook the lead in the third, Mack laced a two-run single to center that plated Boyle and Jones to give Jesuit its first lead of the game before Perryman added to the lead with a single to center in the third which placed Lawlar.

Day faced his final jam of the game in the top of the fourth, as Princeton had two men in scoring position with two outs. Day ended the inning with a strikeout to end the threat, then retired the Panthers in order in the top of the fifth. Mack drove in his third run of the game by driving home Lawlar with a single to right in the bottom of the inning, allowing Cox to come in with a two-run lead. The California Institute of Technology commit struck out all three Princeton batters looking to end the game.

Perryman started against Forney and struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings pitched. Lawlar went 2-for-3 with three doubles and drove in a run while senior
Alek Houillion added a double. Senior
Tyson Pointer drove in a run as sophomore
Cash Riley plated Jesuit's third run of the game on a passed ball. Forney scored one run in the first inning before Jesuit was able to rattle off three unanswered runs to take a 3-1 lead into the seventh.

The Jackrabbits scored the game-tying run with two outs in the top of the seventh after a leadoff triple jumpstarted the comeback. Jesuit put runners on the corners with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but the Rangers were unable to bring the go-ahead run cross before hitting the time limit.

Jesuit will close the Baseball Classic on Saturday against Rockwall and Lovejoy. First pitch against the Yellow Jackets is scheduled for 11 a.m. before the Rangers close the tournament slate against the Leopards at 1:30 p.m.
