Rangers Split Thanksgiving Twin Bill Against Strake

12/9/2021 11:17:00 AM

Jesuit Dallas and Strake Jesuit established a new Thanksgiving tradition in 2021, as the Rangers traveled to Houston to battle the Crusaders, a team in the midst of its inaugural season on the ice, in a two-game series on Nov. 27 and 28. The Rangers captured an 8-1 win over Strake to close out the twin bill after dropping a 3-1 bout in the opener on Nov. 27.

On Saturday, the Rangers wer led by Ryan Virkar and Connor Parro, who scored two goals apiece. Kyle Hogan led the team with three points on one goal and one assist while Alec Rahlfs, William Sahadevan and Chris Sweda each scored a goal. Senior Charlie Cohen secured an assist while Jack Bowdich, Derek Zhang, Travis Hogan, Thomas Fino and Jack Sweda each recorded a point on an assist. Arthur Trapp earned the victory in goal with a strong performance on Saturday. Travis Hogan scored the Rangers' lone goal in the opener as a determined offensive attack fell just short of the Crusader counter.

In addition to the action on the ice, the Strake Jesuit program hosted Jesuit Dallas players and parents for a Mass and catered dinner on their campus Saturday evening. The Rangers will be back in action on Dec. 2 against Frisco East as AT&T Metroplex League play resumes following the holiday.
