Jesuit's stellar playoff run came to a conclusion on Friday, as a Loos Field House full of Jesuit Dallas faithful saw the Rangers attempt to topple nationally ranked Richardson in the UIL Region I-6A final. However, Richardson pulled away from the Rangers in the third quarter and held on for a 66-43 win, ending an incredibly successful basketball season with a 21-7 record.

Conor Moore led the charge with 15 points on the night, shooting 7-of-11 from the field to go along with a cteam-high six rebounds. Senior
Gavin Perryman concluded his career with another double-digit performance, scoring 13 points to finish his career with 1,389 points, which is the second-highest career total since the 2015 season. Senior
Shane Hatzmann scored seven points, senior Call Linn and sophomore
Owen Berry each hit a three-pointer and sophomore
Dylan Gibbons scored two points to cap the Ranger lineup.

Richardson's tenacious defense held Jesuit to five made three-pointers, keeping Jesuit at a 23.8 percent clip from behind the arc. The Eagles scored 20 points off of 16 Jesuit turnovers and used a 24-7 run that spanned the end of the second quarter and ended at the midway point of the third to take a dominant lead heading down the stretch of the game.

Jesuit's incredible run included wins over two state-ranked teams as the Blue and Gold upended No. 8 McKinney, 64-60, in the UIL Area Round before defeating No. 15 El Paso Americas, 61-40, in the regional semifinal on Mar. 2. Jesuit added an electric 55-46 win over district rival Lake Highlands in the regional quarterfinal round on Feb. 27 for another memorable playoff win.

The Rangers' run matched the deepest run in postseason history, matching the run to the regional final recorded by the 2017-18 team. The Rangers hit their stride at the conclusion of the regular season into the playoffs, shooting 48.9 percent as a team from the floor from Jan. 29 to the end of the season, and hitting 41.8 percent of their three point shots en route to securing an eight-game winning streak that was ended by Richardson.
