Jesuit Dallas emerged from a defensive showdown against Southlake Carroll with a 6-4 win over the Dragons on Thursday, celebrating senior night with another divisional win at Postell Stadium. The Rangers will head into a heavily anticipated rematch against Highland Park on a four-game winning streak after a gutsy performance that saw the team battle through a determined Southlake squad for the win.
Â
Senior
Curran Rose led the team with two goals on the day while fellow senior
Caiden Vlasimsky matched Rose's team-high two points with a goal and an assist. The Jesuit Dallas senior class was well represented in the final scoresheet, as
Connor Legg added a goal,
Mason Chandler picked up an assist,
Tristan Hassell caused a team-leading three turnovers,
Alex Chen picked up a trio of ground balls and
Henry Suarez picked up six face-off wins.
Â
Junior
McAllister Hobbs and sophomore
Cameron Martin each scored goals to complete the Jesuit scoresheet as junior
Connor Knight picked up 10 saves in the cage for his seventh win of the year. Jesuit's aggressiveness on the field led to a 16-9 advantage in ground balls as the Rangers were able to convert on 13-of-15 second half clear opportunities, most notably clearing all seven fourth quarter clears.
Â
Southlake Carroll responded to two unanswered goals by the Rangers to start the game by tying the game 28 seconds into the second quarter. Vlasimsky scored a go-ahead goal with 40 seconds remaining in the second half, sending the Blue and Gold into halftime with a one-goal lead.
Â
In the third, Martin scored off of a feed by Legg, pushing Jesuit's lead to two before Rose's second goal of the game, scored in transition off a feed from Chandler with 5:31 left in the third, put Jesuit ahead by three goals. The Dragons cut the lead to one after back-to-back goals, but with 6:01 left in the fourth Hobbs hit the twine to build the lead back to two, and gave Jesuit the critical insurance goal needed for the win.

Jesuit and Highland Park will meet for the second time this season on Friday at Highlander Stadium. The Scots secured the win, 11-9, on Mar. 11 at Postell Stadium in the first meeting between the two teams. First face-off on Friday is scheduled for 7 p.m.
