Rangers Defeat Guyer After Second Half Goal by Visintainer: A goal in the 44th minute by senior
Kyle Visintainer proved to be the difference as Jesuit Dallas toppled Denton Guyer, 1-0, in a UIL Region I-6A Tournament area round showdown on Tuesday at Tommy Briggs Stadium in The Colony, Texas. A stellar effort from the Jesuit Dallas back line kept the Wildcats off the scoreboard to help the Blue and Gold advance to the third round of the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Senior
Spence Gilker assisted on Visintainer's game winner, taking the ball down the sideline and placing a shot on goal that was deflected out into the open by the Guyer goalkeeper. Visintainer rushed the ball and was able to put away the tap-in goal into the empty net for the go-ahead tally, scoring Jesuit's first goal of the playoffs in the process. Jesuit defensive backfield, a unit that included seniors
Jason Davis,
Parker James,
Reid Weinberger, juniors
Alec Gomez,
Sullivan Scott and sophomore
Erwin Ordaz frustrated the Wildcats throughout the contest, and sophomore
Cole Hines came up big once again with eight saves on the night. Guyer earned four corner kicks but did not threaten to score due to fantastic pressure in the box by the Jesuit defense.
