Seniors Jordan Lawlar and Connor Chavez launched home runs, but a five-run sixth inning by Coppell overcame an early Jesuit lead and ended the Rangers' season with a 7-4 setback on Friday at the CISD Baseball/Softball Complex. Jesuit Dallas finishes the 2021 season with the program's highest win total since 2016.
 
Lawlar launched a one-run shot over the left center field wall in the third inning, giving Jesuit a 3-0 lead after the Rangers scored two runs in the first. Senior Nick Lazzara drove a single through the right side, driving home Chavez for the first run of the contest. Later in the inning, senior Gardner Lawrence reached base on an error, allowing Lawlar to score the team's second run of the game.
 
Senior Gavin Perryman threw 5.1 innings, striking out five batters. Senior David Day threw the final two-thirds of the sixth, striking out two of the five batters he faced. Chavez launched his second home run of the year with a shot down the left field line, finishing the game 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Senior Drew Messick and junior Myles Tucker added the Rangers' final two hits of the contest.
