Jesuit Dallas dropped its season opener, 1-0, to Skyline on Jan. 3 at Forester Athletic Stadium. The Rangers put a flurry of attempts on the Raiders' goalkeeper down the stretch, but a penalty kick goal by Skyline was the difference maker in the contest on a frigid night in south Dallas.
Â
The Ranger defense was strong throughout the day, blocking five shots to slow down a methodical Skyline offense. Junior goalkeeper
Cole Hines recorded a pair of saves while senior
Christian Rodriguez secured three saves in the second half. Shots on goal were recorded by senior Arnold Perez and juniors
James McCrea and
Josh Roppolo. Jesuit secured three corner kick opportunities and were awarded 10 free kicks, including six off of Skyline fouls in the first half.

Jesuit will next host the 41st annual Jesuit-Meinster Soccer Invitational, which is set to start on Thursday at 12 p.m. when the Rangers take on Nolan Catholic. This year's tournament field will include Bishop Lynch, Jesuit Dallas, McKinney, Nolan Catholic, North Mesquite, Plano, Rowlett and Skyline.
