An early scoring run from McKinney proved too much to overcome as the methodical Lions' offense ended the 2022 Jesuit Dallas season in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region I-6A Area Round on Friday at Children's Health Stadium in Prosper, Texas. The Rangers dropped a 42-7 decision to the Lions, ending another successful season that saw Jesuit secure a 9-2 record and pick up the 10th bi-district championship in program history.
Senior Charlie Schmidt completed 17-of-36 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown in his final game behind center. Senior Jake Musso snagged the Rangers' lone touchdown of the game, a fourth-quarter touchdown that culminated an eight-reception, 81 yard game for the senior wide receiver. Schmidt additionally led the team in rushing, carrying the ball 19 times for 30 yards. Senior Reed Pfaffenberger tacked on six carries for 28 yards, averaging 4.7 yards per carry while senior Luke Fawcett caught four passes for 62 yards.
Defensively, Jesuit junior Grayson Wombacher and senior Jameson Kemp recorded nine tackles and one tackle for loss apiece. Sacks were recorded by seniors Luke Buckner, Dillon Blair, Luke Selner and junior Tristen Bird, senior Roark Holman added eight tackles and senior Blake Miller recorded six total stops.
