The 4x100 relay team of seniors

Patrick Bennett,
Cole Younger and
Hunter Krepp broke a school record set in 1969, helping propel Jesuit Dallas to a convincing win at the DFW Showcase on Saturday in Commerce, Texas.
In their first race as a relay team, the quartet ran a 42.22 to break the previous record of 42.30 set in 1969 by the relay team of Chris Flowers, Charles Wilbert, Eric Elkins and Chris Hentzen and matched in 2021 by Wray,
Charlie Clements, Ford Butler and
Max McFarland. The Rangers won the event by 0.5 seconds over Red Oak, as Krepp passed Hawks' anchor leg Warren Roberson over the final 100 meters for the victory and school record.
In the field events, senior
Richard Hambleton won the pole vault, clearing 13'6'', Â senior
Carson Walls added a 22'8'' leap in the long jump to win his event and senior
Evan Bare launched a throw of 41'5'' to capture the shot put. Seniors
Grant Kostos and
DeChi Peterson added second-place finishes in the high jump, hitting the 6'0'' mark.
Peterson would add a victory for the Rangers in the 110-meter hurdles, besting Tyler Legacy's Camryn Rollins by 0.15 seconds with a 15.54 as Bennett would also tack on an individual victory with a 48.69 in the 400 meter dash. Junior
Charlie Humbert won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 41.40, then joined Younger, sophomore
Caden Cutchall and Bennett in the victorious 4x400 meter relay race which saw the Rangers clock a 3:27.47 total relay time. Cutchall ran a 2:02.70 in the 800 meter run to place second, and Jesuit's 4x200 relay team of Wray, Humbert, Younger and Krepp placed second with a 1:30.02.
Jesuit will compete in one more meet before spring break as the Rangers are set to enter the Bradley Urshel Invitational at St. Mark's on Saturday, March 12. Field events are set to begin at 9 a.m., the 3200-meter run will take place at 11 a.m. and the remainder of the running events will begin at 2 p.m.
