Jesuit Dallas capped the 2023 regular season with a rousing second half, scoring 35 unanswered points to rally past Richardson, 42-21, on Nov. 3 at Ranger Stadium. Celebrating senior night prior to Friday night's kick-off, the Rangers finish the regular season with a 7-3 record, placed third in District 7-6A, and will enter the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region I-6A Division II tournament as the No. 2 seed out of 7-6A.

The senior-laden defense played a key role in the win for the Rangers, as senior
Grayson Wombacher led the team with 12 tackles on the night, adding a recovered fumble and an interception. Senior
Sammy McFarland returned a fumble for a touchdown, picking up a forced fumble from junior
Cade Gill and racing 18 yards into the end zone to keep Jesuit's scoring run intact. Senior Chris Simington, McFarland and Gill finished the game with seven tackles apiece, with Simington adding a force on the fumble recovered by Wombacher. Seniors
Logan Thompson and
Drew Betts added six tackles apiece, while senior
Tristen Bird and junior
Cooper Smith made four stops each. McFarland, Thompson and senior
Entonyo Jones, Jr. also broke up one pass apiece.

Junior
Charlie Peters recorded another stunning performance, completing four touchdown passes for 233 yards on 16-of-28 passing. Touchdown passes were completed to seniors
Dolen Hedrick and
Quentin Williams along with strikes to juniors
Blake Bodnar and
Henry Bourret. Peters would also lead the team in rushing with 67 carries on the night, although Bourret found the end zone for a touchdown, finishing the contest with a team-high seven rushes for 60 yards.

Jesuit will now turn its attention to the playoffs, where the Blue and Gold will matchup against Arlington Bowie. The Rangers and Volunteers will face off on Friday, Nov. 10 at C.H. Wilemon Field in Arlington. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
