Liam Placke's third goal of the season helped the Rangers secure a point in the AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League standings, but the Rangers dropped a 2-1 bout to Keller in a shootout on Wednesday evening in Euless, Texas.

Senior Connor Sughrue assisted on Placke's tally, Jesuit's lone goal of the contest. The Rangers launched 32 shots at Keller, but were curbed by Keller netminder Kole Prevraatil. Senior goalkeeper Misha Saratovtsev made 23 saves for the Rangers. Jesuit developed several power play opportunities, including an elongated 5-on-3 midway through the third period, but were unable to light the lamp for a critical insurance goal before Keller scored the equalizer with a minute left in regulation.

Jesuit was held scoreless in the shootout, while Keller scored in the fourth round to earn the extra point.

The Rangers will break for the holiday season and return to the ice on Wednesday, January 10 against Northwest. Puck drop is set for 8:45 p.m. at the Children's Health StarCenter in Plano.
