Five members of the Ranger roster found the back of the net, but a game-opening run by St. Ignatius, punctuated by a four-goal second quarter, led Jesuit to an 11-5 setback on Mar. 11 in San Francisco, California.
Ranger goals were scored by senior
Charlie Schmidt, juniors
Beckett Foley,
Broderick Hobbs,
Greyson Kissock,
Cooper Tilden and freshman Cayden Bartusek. Senior goalie
Cooper Coleman recorded four saves in the first three quarters before senior
Kyle Dime took over in the fourth, making a save in the final quarter. Tilden led the team with six ground balls, followed by Schmidt, who secured a pair of ground balls on the afternoon. Schmidt and Tilden tacked on one caused turnover apiece.
Jesuit will face a quick turnaround as the Blue and Gold will close its two-game, west coast road trip on Mar. 13 against Sacred Heart (Calif.). Face-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. PST (5 p.m. CST) in San Francisco.
