Anchored by several top-three finishes and a pair of individual event champions, the Ranger track & field program kept its electric start to the 2023 season intact with a third-place finish at the 2023 Lovejoy Invitational, held on Saturday, March 4 at Lovejoy H.S. The Rangers have finished fifth or better in all three meets this season as the program is looking to make a splash at the quickly approaching Jesuit-Sheaner Relays on March 24-25.

Caden Cutchall teamed for a victorious run in the 4x400 meter relay, crossing the finish line in 3:26.62 to best second place Denton Braswell by over a second. Beckman would additionally pick up an individual victory with a 1:56.72 in the 800 meter run, edging Frisco Reedy's Garrick Spieler by 0.16 seconds for the victory. Cutchall would also score for the Rangers in the event with a 1:57.28 to place third.

Charlie Thornton secured silver in the 3,200 meter run with a 9:45.26, senior
Charlie Humbert placed second in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles with respective times of 15.17 and 40.43, and the 4x200 meter relay team of senior

Cooper Cutler finished in second place with a 1:33.28.
In field events, junior
Thatch Balady placed second in the pole vault after clearing 13'6'' and senior Jameson Kemp finished third in the shot put with a throw of 42-0.75. Overall, Jesuit Dallas would finish with 109 points, well ahead of fourth-place Lovejoy and trailing only Denton Braswell (129) and Colleyville Heritage (124).
Jesuit will return to the track on Thursday, March 9 for the first-ever Dallas private school quadrangular meet. The meet will be scored as a double-dual meet as Jesuit will compete with Ursuline in meets against St. Mark's and Hockaday. The meet will conclude with a co-ed 4x400 relay that will see runners from both the Rangers and Bears compete in the same relay race. The meet is set to start at 3:45 p.m. with the 3,200 meter run and field events before additional running events begin at 4:15 p.m.
