FARMER'S BRANCH, Texas -
Wade Bryan's goal 18 seconds into overtime gave Jesuit Dallas a 3-2 victory over rival Highland Park at the Farmer's Branch StarCenter on Wednesday.
Jesuit improved to 7-1-1 on the season with 20 points at the halfway point in AT&T Metroplex Hockey League Varsity Gold slate. The Rangers are a point behind league-leading McKinney.
The Blue and Gold dominated the possession and held a 41-21 margin in shots.
HP went ahead 1-0 just 27 seconds into the game on a goal from Jake Marks before
Allen Zhang tied it for Jesuit on a feed from
Aike Han and Bryan just over four minutes later.
The Rangers took their first lead of the contest in the second period when Max Reynolds found
Nathan Morris in front of the net for a shorthanded goal. The Scots tied it at 2-2 early in the third to setup the extra session.
Bryan's goal was his fourth of the season and his first game-winner.
Jesuit will step out of league play this weekend with a trip to South Bend, Indiana for the Hoosier Cup on Saturday and Sunday. The Rangers will face Calvert Hall of Maryland on Saturday and St. Joseph of Indiana on Sunday morning at the Compton Family Ice Arena on the University of Notre Dame campus.
