RICHARDSON, Texas -
Allen Zhang scored three goals to help Jesuit defeat Frisco, 5-1, at the Richardson StarCenter and take over sole possession of first place in the AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League Wednesday.
Two of Zhang's goals were shorthanded in the second period and the final one sealed the victory for the Rangers. Jesuit is now 13-4 on the season with six regular-season games remaining.
Jesuit outshot Frisco 30-27 and never trailed in the contest.
Wade Bryan opened the scoring with an unassisted goal six minutes into the contest. Just 40 seconds later,
Maxwell Reynolds took a feed from
Nathan Morris to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead.
After Frisco found the net early in the second, Zhang scored his first of the night with 3:00 on the clock and added another with just 21 seconds remaining for a 4-1 lead. He then finished it off in the final period with a goal with 9:46 to play.
Thomas Strand got the win for Jesuit with 26 saves.
The Rangers will face Southlake Carroll on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Euless StarCenter.
