Jesuit Dallas hockey dropped its first game of the 2025 AT&T Metroplex Hockey League playoffs on Wednesday, suffering a 4-2 setback to Keller at the StarCenter in Farmers Branch.
 
The Rangers out-shot Keller, 46-23 but were unable to overcome a massive outing from Keller goalie Kole Prevratil, who made 44 saves in the win. Junior Wade Bryan scored Jesuit's first goal of the game 51 seconds into the second period on an assist by sophomore Maxwell Reynolds, tying the game at 1-1 early in the second period. Keller would score the go-ahead tally late in the second before adding a critical power play goal in the third.
 
With the net empty and working with a two-man advantage, junior Allen Zhang scored Jesuit's second goal, sending home a feed from junior Wiliam Hubbell to cut Keller's lead to one. However, Keller would put the game out of reach with an empty net goal a minute later.
 
The Rangers will take a brief respite from playoff action with a weekend trip to South Bend, Indiana for the Ninth Annual Hoosier Cup. Jesuit's tournament run will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday with a showdown against DeMatha Catholic (Md.) before two games on Sunday. Jesuit will take on Calvert Hall (Md.) at 8:35 a.m. on Monday before squaring off against Bishop O'Connell (Va.) at 4:20 p.m.
 
Jesuit will return to AT&T Metroplex League playoff action on Wednesday, February 12 against McKinney. Entering the tournament as the top-seeded team, McKinney opened its tournament run with a 3-0 win over Highland park on Feb. 5. Puck drop for Jesuit's second of three round-robin games is set for 7 p.m.
