Lacrosse Sweeps Two-Game Set in St. Louis

The Jesuit Dallas lacrosse team secured a pair of out-of-state wins, increasing its win streak to five games with a 13-3 win over DeSmet Jesuit on Saturday and a 16-0 win over SLUH on Sunday in St. Louis, Missouri.
 
vs. DeSmet Jesuit – Mar. 22, 2025
 
The Rangers' defense held DeSmet in check during the first game of the weekend, holding the Spartans to only nine shots while forcing nine turnovers on clear attempts. Juniors John Gregory and Jack Steinbach led the way with three caused turnovers apiece while junior Davis Skinner caused three of the Spartans' 15 turnovers. Senior Caleb Caldwell was a force at the "x", winning 15-of-16 faceoff attempts and snagging a team-high nine ground balls.
 
Offensively, the Rangers were led by juniors Cayden Bartusek, Andrew Ditchman and senior Henry Latta, who scored two goals apiece. Juniors David Atwell, Grayson Gilbert, Jack Lynch, Stone Tubbs and senior Declan McGarity scored two goals apiece as Lynch added a team-high two assists. Atwell, Gilbert, junior Marshall Sorokwasz, senior Arsen Ventura and sophomore J.C. Fife each recorded an assist.
 
vs. SLUH – Mar. 23, 2025
 
Jesuit achieved its highest scoring output of the season against SLUH while securing its first shutout since a 19-0 win over Plano West on February 6, 2021. Ditchman led the way with three goals on the day, followed by two goals from Lynch and Bartusek alongside individual tallies by Atwell, Ventura, Gilbert, McGarity, junior Hayden Alfano and junior Patrick Gagliardi. Junior Gabriel James and sophomore Declan Kissock combined for the shutout, with James making two saves in the first half before Kissock made four stops in the second half.
 
Caldwell won all four of his face-off attempts and junior Thompson Haddock was successful on four-of-five faceoff attempts. Junior Hudson Neri secured a team-high two assists, Caldwell added a team-leading 12 ground balls, and the trio of Neri, Skinner and junior Shepard Platt caused two turnovers apiece.
 
Jesuit Dallas will return to the Lone Star State for a matchup against Torrey Pines (Calif.) on Saturday, March 29 at 6 p.m. at Ranger Stadium.
