DALLAS - The Jesuit Dallas Lacrosse team fell to Episcopal School of Dallas, 6-5, at Ranger Stadium on Saturday.
Jesuit is now 2-3 on the season after dropping its first district match of the THSLL slate. ESD is now 3-0.
Jesuit outshot ESD 26-20 but was unable to overcome five unanswered in the first half.
The Rangers got on the board three minutes into the contest on a
Wil Fagan score. ESD tied it up with a minute left in the first on a goal by Josh Logan. He finished with three scores and an assist.
The Eagles led 5-2 at the half following a Ranger goal by
Andrew Ditchman with 1:53 to play.
ESD regained the momentum with a Logan goal 43 seconds into the third period. Jesuit battled back and got a man-up goal by
David Atwell just before the horn in the third.Â
The Rangers controlled possession in the final 12 minutes and pulled to within a goal on scores by
Jack Lynch and Atwell. They had a final scoring opportunity with 90 seconds left but the shot was off target and ESD ran out the rest of the game after clearing the zone.
Gabriel James face 20 shots and made seven saves in goal.
ESD won 8-of-13 face offs.
Jesuit will return to action on Sunday at Noon when it plays host to Blue Valley Lacrosse out of the Kansas City, Kansas area.
