For the second straight season, Jesuit Dallas has earned its way to the University Interscholastic League (UIL) 6A State Championship Tournament after placing second at the Region I-6A Championship Tournament on April 16-17 at Tangle Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Hill. Jack Clancy, the Rangers are bound for Georgetown, Texas to play on high school golf's biggest stage on May 5-6.

Clancy won the individual regional championship by one stroke, holding off Cooper Carlyle from Flower Mound Marcus for medalist honors. On Wednesday, Clancy began his run with a one-over 73, hitting six straight pars to end the front nine and make the turn among the leaders. Clancy attacked the back nine on Wednesday, converting three birdies and ending his first day on the course with an eagle on the 18th hole to end the first day one-under with a 71. Throughout the second day of the tournament, Clancy and the remainder of the Rangers' lineup battled adverse wind conditions, but Clancy was able to hit two key birdies on the back nine to secure the victory.

Overall, Jesuit Dallas combined for a 593 team score and bested Flower Mound Marcus by one stroke for the second-place finish, trailing only J.J. Pearce, who captured the regional championship with a team score of 589. Mansfield nearly missed a state bid, shooting nine-over on Thursday and finishing with a 597 total team score while Denton Guyer finished in fifth place with a 611 two-day total.

Junior
Spencer Carter turned in the second-lowest score for the Rangers, finishing 15th overall with a 149. Carter secured four birdies on Wednesday, turning in a two-over 74 for round one before hitting an eagle on the 12th hole during the second round, wrapping up the event with a three-over 75 and a total score of 149. Reese Roberts birdied the final hole on Thursday, recording his fifth birdie of the tournament to finish tied with teammate
Connor Chisum for in 20th place with matching scores of 151. Chisum secured five birdies on Wednesday before adding a pair of birdies on the front nine Thursday before finishing out the tournament with seven straight pars.

Senior
Nicholas Norris went birdie-free over the last 14 holes on Wednesday, turning in a three-over 75 on the first day before six straight pars and a birdie on the back end helped the Arkansas Tech commit finish 36th overall with a 154. Senior
Harrison Carter closed out the tournament in 44th place, shooting a 79 on day one followed by a 78 on day two to finish with a 157. Freshman
Jackson Straley capped Jesuit's lineup with a 156, placing 41
st in his first regional championship appearance.

Jesuit Dallas will advance to the two-day state championship tournament, which will take place on White Wing Golf Course on May 5 and May 6. Last season, the Rangers posted their best finish since 2008, finishing sixth overall while
Reese Roberts became the first Ranger golfer since Jordan Spieth '11 to post a top-three finish, earning the bronze medal.
