5/6/2025 4:30:00 PM

Jesuit Dallas golf posted its second-best finish at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) 6A State Tournament since 2008 on Monday, placing seventh in the state following the first round at White Wing Golf Club in Georgetown, Texas. The first round would ultimately become the only round of competition as the second and final round, originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, was called due to heavy rain in Central Texas.

Senior Reese Roberts was Jesuit's top finisher at state, finishing fourth overall with an even-par 72 at the event. Roberts converted four birdies during his round, posting his first on the 560-yard par five 18th hole before adding another birdie on another par-five. Roberts added a birdie on the fourth hole before finishing out his first round of the tournament with a birdie on the 10th to turn in an even-par 72. Roberts converted four straight pars before finishing his round with a three-stroke performance on the 335-yard par four.

Junior Jack Clancy posted Jesuit's second-lowest round, finishing 36th overall with a 79. Clancy would secure birdies on the 14th hole, a 199-yard par three, adding a birdie on the first hole, a 349-yard par four. Finishing behind Clancy was fellow third year Spencer Carter, who overcame a difficult start over his first four holes with par or better on 12 of his last 14 holes, including a birdie on the eighth to turn in an 80 and place 42nd overall.

Senior Connor Chisum birdied the second and fifth hole, a par five and par four respectively, to conclude his Jesuit career with an 82, placing 52nd overall. Senior Nicholas Norris rounded out the Jesuit Dallas lineup with an 83, carding a birdie on the par-four fourth hole to finish in 54th.

Overall, Jesuit Dallas combined for a team score of 313, finishing three strokes behind Katy Jordan, who finished in sixth with a 310. The Rangers were the top-finishing team among the three qualifying squads from Region I-6A, as the Rangers finished two strokes ahead of eighth-place J.J. Pearce (315) and ninth-place Flower Mound Marcus (317). Austin Westlake captured the UIL 6A State Championship with a 288, followed by Houston Memorial (299) and Lake Travis (300).

The Jesuit Dallas golf program concludes another successful campaign following its second straight appearance at the state tournament. Clancy participated in his third straight state tournament following an individual berth in 2023 followed by team appearances in 2024 and 2025. During the 2024-25 season, Jesuit won a combined 16 tournaments between its varsity and junior varsity teams and captured the program's second district championship in three seasons.

In addition, a slew of the Rangers' senior class will move on to compete at the college level as Harrison Carter (Shenandoah), Connor Chisum (Boston College), Nicholas Norris (Arkansas Tech), Reese Roberts (Missouri) and Miles Russell (Loyola University New Orleans) committed to play golf in college during the academic year.
