FORT WORTH, Texas - The Jesuit Dallas golf team opened the season with a sixth place finish at the prestigious Bart Granger Tournament over the weekend. The Rangers were the highest finishing District 7 team and the fourth-highest Region 1 team in the field of 52Â totals teams.
Jesuit posted a 294-295-287=867 54-hole total, with the final round 287 the second-lowest of the final day.
Senior
Alex Murray placed 19th with a 74-74-68=216 total. His final-round 68 was a career low effort. Classmate
Jack Clancy was a shot behind at 73-71-73=217 where he tied for 22nd.
Austin Lake Travis won the tournament with a 838 score. Prosper Walnut Grove was second at 863, followed closely by Lewisville Marcus, Coppell and Denton Guyer at 873, 874 and 875, respectively.
The Rangers will return to action with a Junior Varsity entry at the Frisco Wakeland Tournament, played at the Trails of Frisco Golf Club on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
