SAN MARCOS, Texas - Jesuit Dallas standout golfer Spencer Carter has been named to the Academic All-State Team as announced by the Texas High School Coaches Association.

Carter is a second team honoree based on a combination of his cumulative grade point average (on a 90-100 scale), along with metrics encompassing his SAT and/or ACT scores.

He finished his senior season with a 74.6 stroke average while placing sixth at the District 7-6A championship, ninth at the regional tournament and 21st at the state championship event. He capped his fourth year on varsity as the team Most Valuable Player.

Jesuit finished fourth at this year's University Interscholastic League Class 6A State Championship, marking the highest finish in school history.

Carter will play college golf at Columbia University.
