Jesuit Dallas Opens 83rd Football Season Friday Night At Hebron

The Rangers have made six-consecutive UIL postseason appearances

ABOUT JESUIT DALLAS
• Jesuit Dallas opens its 83rd season of varsity football on Friday night. Since joining the University Interscholastic League in 2003, the Rangers have made the playoffs 17 our of 21 years, including the last six. They have won a bi-district game 11 times. Jesuit won 20 TCIL state championships from 1954-1999.
• Senior LB Gabriel James returns after collecting 96 tackles (2nd on the team) a year ago en route to earning First Team All-District honors. He added 3.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two pass break-ups and a funble recovery.
• Among the notables who starred on the Junior Varsity a year ago are Andres Vann (MVP), Ty Daboub (Most Improved) and Simon McGoldrick (Ranger Heart Award).
• Jesuit has 24 seniors, 41 juniors and five sophomores listed on the varsity roster.

FUN WITH NUMBERS
3 - Jesuit Dallas will have a 3-man broadcast team on Friday made up of three alumni. Chris Ackels '09, Kevin Fitzsimmons '11 and Chris Martinez '78 will call the action.
11 - Jesuit has captured 11 bi-district championships with 10 coming in the last 13 seasons. Over the past 13 years, Jesuit has ended the season without a bi-district title three times: 2018 (did not qualify), 2020 (lost to Arlington) & 2024 (lost to Arlington Bowie).
27 - Jesuit had 27 football student-athletes earn a spot on the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Academic All-State list. Two Rangers earned the highest honor possible as Jaeger Krauss and Jack Yeskie were named to the ELITE Academic All-State Team.
36 - Jesuit racked up 36 tackles for loss last season, taking 143 yards away from opponents. Cade Gill (8.5), Gabriel James (3.5) and Cooper Smith (3.5) led the way for the Ranger defense.
43 - The Rangers have to replace 43 seniors from the 2024 team. The group was led by captains Henry Bourret, Cade Gill, Jaeger Krauss, Michael Martin, Charlie Peters and Robert Prager.
88 - In 2024, Jesuit reached the red zone 50 times, successfully scoring on 44 of those opportunities for an 88 percent success rate.
110 - Jesuit Dallas football head coach Brandon Hickman enters the season with a 110-56 (.662) record with the Rangers. He is 79-21 (.790) in district play..

ABOUT HEBRON
• Hebron enters the season coming off an 8-5 2024 campaign where the Hawks went 2-1 in the playoffs before losing to Southlanke Carroll in the region semifinals. It was the Hawks' first postseason appearance since head coach John Towels took over in 2021.
• Like Jesuit, Hebron had a large senior class a year ago and must replace 46 seniors.

SERIES HISTORY
• Jesuit and Hebron are meeting for the sixth time overall and the third-consecutive season. The Hawks lead the series 3-2 and have won the last two matchups. The Rangers last victory came in 2022 (38-7 at home). Jesuit is 1-1 at Brian Brazil Stadium.
