ABOUT JESUIT DALLAS
• Jesuit Dallas hits the road for the second time this season traveling six miles south to Highlander Stadium.
• In his first season as a starting QB, senior QB Beck Berry has thrown for 259 yards on 33-of-57 passing in six quarters. He has rushed for 21 yards. As a WR last season he finished with 184 receiving yards on 17 catches,
• Senior WRs Cade Kirby and Shane Parker are emerging as go-to receivers for the Rangers thus far, combining for 20 receptions and 169 yards. Kirby has 88 yards on 10 catches and Parker has 80 on the same number of balls. Parker had nine for 72 yards in the opener at Hebron, while Kirby was the top target last week against Jesuit New Orleans with seven receptions on 63 yards.
• Senior PK Cooper McGough has had four kickoffs, putting two into the end zone for a touchback & another saw the opponent start on their own 5-yard line.
• Last week senior LB Joe Norman intercepted Jesuit New Orleans QB Taylor Norton on the third play of the game and returned it 15 yards for a TD. It was the first pick-6 by a Ranger since last year against Irving when Merritt Johnson took one to the house from 50 yards out.
• The Rangers have been penalized just four times in two games for 45 yards. They did not commit a penalty last week.
• Jesuit has 24 seniors, 42 juniors and five sophomores listed on the varsity roster.
• Since joining the University Interscholastic League in 2003, the Rangers have made the playoffs 17 out of 21 years, including the last six. They have won a bi-district game 11 times. Jesuit won 20 TCIL state championships from 1954-1999.
ABOUT HIGHLAND PARK
• Highland Park is 1-1 in 2025 with a narrow 52-49 loss to Rockwall-Heath and a 2-quarter 21-0 blowout at Lovejoy. The Scots allowed just 31 total yards and two first downs before the game was stopped with 3:54 left in the half.
• Junior QB Buck Randall has thrown for 571 yards on 60 percent of his passes with seven TD and one INT. He also leads the team on the ground with 134 yards and two scores. In 2024, he had 3,907 passing yards, 40 TD, 12 rushing TD and an appearance in the Class 5A Division I state championship game.
• Senior WR Cannon Bozman has nearly half of Randall's 33 completions, hauling in 16 for 337 yards and six TD this season.
• HP has been nearly unbeatable at home. The Scots have lost just five times in the last 21 seasons - once in 2024, 2023, 2019, 2015, 2012.
BY THE NUMBERS
• 4 - The number of Jesuit Dallas players who attended Highland Park Middle School.Â
• 7 - Jesuit has seven tackles for loss and two sacks this season. Senior LB Cole Wombacher has 2.5 TFL as part of his team-leading 17 tackles.
• 8 - Jesuit Dallas and Highland Park have met eight times on the gridiron, with the Scots holding a 7-1 series lead. HP has won the last five since the series resumed in 2000. The first three matchups occurred during the 1951, 1972 & 1973 seasons.
• 11 - Jesuit has captured 11 bi-district championships with 10 coming in the last 13 seasons. Over the past 13 years, Jesuit has ended the season without a bi-district title three times: 2018 (did not qualify), 2020 (lost to Arlington) & 2024 (lost to Arlington Bowie).
• 27 - Jesuit had 27 football student-athletes earn a spot on the 2024 Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Academic All-State list. Two Rangers earned the highest honor possible as Jaeger Krauss and Jack Yeskie were named to the ELITE Academic All-State Team.
• 570 - The combined win total of Brandon Hickman and Randy Allen - two of the longest tentured head coaches in the Metroplex. Hickman enters the game with a 110-58 (.662) record in his 15th season and Allen is 460-97-6 (.822) in 45th year as a head coach (287-38 in 27th season at HP).
