PROSPER, Texas -
J.P. Livingstone threw for 395 yards and five touchdowns as Jesuit Dallas upset No. 18 Walnut Grove, 50-49, in overtime at Children's Health Stadium on Thursday night.
The back-and-forth contest saw the teams combine for 1,113 yards of total offense and more than 700 through the air.
Jesuit (4-2, 3-0 District 6-6A) remained perfect in district play while handing Walnut Grove (5-1, 2-1) its first regular-season loss since October 14, 2024, snapping an 18-game win streak.
Livingstone finished the wild night 23-for-30 with scoring passes of 47 yards to
Ty Daboub in the first quarter, 96 to
Joseph Konings in the third and 25 to
George Gladstone in overtime. The Rangers followed up the Gladstone score with a pass to
Hunter Helm for the game-winning 2-point conversion. The 96-yard strike was the longest play from scrimmage by the Rangers since at least the 2014 season.
Daboub ran for 111 yards, eclipsing the 100-yard mark for the fourth time in the last five contests. He also rushed for two scores and caught one to maintain his district scoring lead. He now has 14 touchdowns for 84 points.
Konings also kept his spot atop the district leaders in receiving yards, catching seven balls for 182 yards and two touchdowns. His career-long 96-yarder came on the first play after Jesuit stopped Walnut Grove on fourth down inside the 5-yard line. That put the Blue and Gold ahead 35-28 early in the third quarter. Konings has 679 receiving yards this season with a 113.2 yards per game average.
On defense,
Mack Murphy made 18 tackles and forced a fumble, while
Simon McGoldrick collected 13 stops, two tackles for loss and a sack.
Neither team led by more than seven points during the game.
The Rangers have won their last four games for the first time since the last four of the 2024 regular-season.
Jesuit will return to play next Friday, Oct. 16 when it plays host to Prosper. Kickoff at Ranger Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
