Despite a season-best, 23-point performance by junior
Marcus Hill, the Rangers dropped a 61-52, overtime road decision to the reigning University Interscholastic League (UIL) 4A State Champion Lincoln Tigers on Saturday, December 10.

Hill knocked down 13 of the team's first 18 points, closing out the afternoon shooting 9-of-16 from the floor and 5-of-11 from outside the arc. The junior tied senior
Mitch Prendergast with a team-high six rebounds, while Prendergast added a squad-high four assists, adding eight points. Junior
Reid Hatzmann scored five points, dragged down five boards, added three assists and a team-high three steals.

The Rangers (7-4) shot 43.5 percent from the floor, but turned the ball over 18 times. Jesuit looked poised to take a dominating hold on the game over the first quarter, using an 18-point run to lead, 20-4, heading into the second. Lincoln kicked off the second quarter by cutting the Ranger lead to nine-points, but Jesuit returned the advantage to 16 with another 7-0 run, taking a 29-17 lead into the break.

Lincoln opened the second half by winning the third quarter, 13-8 to close the Jesuit lead to three possessions. The Rangers were unable to hold back the determined Tiger attack in the fourth, and Lincoln took its first lead of the game with 1:10 remaining in regulation.

Hill buried a three-pointer with 14 seconds remaining to force overtime, but Jesuit was held to a single field goal in the extra session, scored by sophomore
Max Abmas, before Lincoln was able to shut the door on the Blue and Gold.

Jesuit will next travel to Arlington, Texas on Tuesday, December 13 to battle Mansfield Timberview. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
