Sophomore
Michael Jankovich dropped 25 points and the Rangers posted their third best shooting performance of the season in a dominant, 70-39 win over R.L. Turner in University Interscholastic League (UIL) District 9-6A play on Tuesday evening.
Jankovich shot 9-of-13 from the floor and buried five three-pointers to help spark the Rangers (19-8, 9-3 UIL) offensively. The team finished the contest shooting 55.1 percent from the floor and 38.5 percent from beyond the arc, gaining a 30-21 rebounding advantage while forcing 13 R.L Turner turnovers.  With the win, the Rangers remain unbeaten on the road against UIL District 9-6A opponents.
Junior
Mitch Prendergast scored 15 points, burying four three pointers, while senior
Shawn Regan fell two rebounds short of a double-double, setting a new season-high with 12 points and tacking on eight rebounds.Â

Ben Kunasek pulled down four boards, recorded four assists and swiped a pair of steals, while junior
Dixon Smith also posted a four-rebound performance. Fellow third year

A three-pointer by Jankovich 19 seconds into the contest provided an early jolt for the Ranger offense, who rocketed to a 12-3 lead four minutes into the opening quarter. Jesuit Dallas improved their lead to 13 points with 6:48 left in the second, but R.L. Turner improved offensively in the second quarter, scoring 13 points in the period to send Jesuit into halftime leading, 35-22.Â
The Lions (4-19, 3-9 UIL) went to the free-throw line 11 times in the second quarter, converting nine shots from the charity stripe. Jesuit Dallas shot 50 percent from the floor in the first half, dominating inside the lane for 20 points in the paint. The Ranger defense also started the game strong, limiting the Lions' outside shooters to 2-of-8 from behind the arc.
In the second half, a 14-7 run over the opening 3:25 of the third quarter improved the Jesuit Dallas lead to 20 points before a 15-0 run spanning the third and fourth quarter gave the Blue and Gold a 64-34 advantage with five minutes remaining in regulation. The Rangers led by as many as 33 points with 1:59 remaining in the fourth, holding R.L. Turner without a three-pointer in the fourth quarter while holding the Lions without a basket over the final 3:50 of the contest.
Jesuit Dallas will next host Sunset on Friday evening at Walsh Gymnasium, where the Rangers will celebrate the careers of seniors
