Jesuit Dallas scored a game-opening touchdown 62 seconds into the first quarter, pounding the pavement for the most rushing yards since 2013 in a 42-3 win over the Eagles on Friday evening at Eagle-Mustang Stadium.
Â
Senior
John Wunderlick scored a pair of rushing touchdowns, logging nine carries for 80 yards. Four Ranger rushers posted 50 net rushing yards or more in the dominant team effort, including an 89-yard outing by fourth year
Evan Jackson and 63 yards for junior
Hank Clements, who broke off a 43-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Friday's 353 rushing yards is the most for a Jesuit team since a 341-yard effort by the Blue and Gold on November 23, 2013 against Rockwall.
Â
Quarterback
Jacob Palisch finished Friday's bout completing 7-of-10 passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns, tacking on a rushing score. Palisch found junior
Grayson Hassell and senior
Connor Jackson for touchdown passes, leading Jesuit to a season-high 486 yards of total offense.
Â
Defensively, Jesuit (2-3, 2-0) held the Eagles to 186 yards of total offense. Senior
Andrew Miskell made five tackles, logged a team-high three tackles for loss, added a sack and forced fumble. Junior
Hank Bitterman forced and recovered a first-quarter fumble, while junior
Jack Lynch led the squad with six tackles. Ranger defenders brought the Eagles (0-4, 0-2) down 14 times behind the line of scrimmage, posted four sacks and broke up four passes.
Â
It took Palisch four plays to put the Rangers on the scoreboard, finding Hassell for a 39-yard touchdown pass 62 seconds into the bout. With 7:34 remaining in the quarter, a six-play, 38-yard Jesuit drive ended with an eight-yard touchdown run by Palisch, and Wunderlick would score from two yards out to close the first quarter. A 15-yard pass from Palisch to
Connor Jackson to lead off the second, and Wunderlick sent Jesuit into the break with a 35-0 lead after scoring his second touchdown of the game on a 15-yard run.
Â
With 3:56 left in the third, Clements scored his first varsity touchdown on the first play of the Jesuit drive, quickly distancing himself from the Richardson defense and gliding into the end zone for the Rangers' fourth rushing touchdown of the evening.

Jesuit will next take on Skyline at Postell Stadium on October 7th.
