Despite a penalty kick goal from junior
Ethan Moore, Jesuit Dallas fell in the season-opener, 2-1, to Trinity Christian Academy on Tuesday in Addison, Texas.
Â
TCA jumped ahead eight minutes into the first half off of a corner kick, but junior goalkeeper
Joseph Banul kept the Blue and Gold in contention by making a save in the 19th minute. Junior
Christian Lerma was fouled inside the box in the 21st minute, awarding Jesuit a penalty kick opportunity. Moore, a five-goal scorer last year, jumpstarted his 2017 season by depositing the penalty opportunity and sending the game into halftime tied after Banul made a save with 20 seconds remaining in the opening stanza.

Senior goalkeeper
Luke Ostrander made a pair of saves in the first 15 minutes of the second half, hoping to set the stage for a go-ahead Jesuit goal. However, the Trojans scored in the 50th minute to take a 2-1 lead. Jesuit mounted a late push, but TCA kept the Rangers away from the game-tying goal until the final horn.

The Rangers will return to action on Tuesday, January 10, when the Blue and Gold face off against Bishop Lynch to begin the 2017 Jesuit-Meintser Soccer Invitational Tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. from Postell Stadium.
