The Jesuit Dallas running back contingent scored five rushing touchdowns, helping usher the Rangers to a 35-14 win over Wylie on Friday at Postell Stadium. Jesuit enters the district campaign with a 1-2 record, scoring the team's first non-district victory since 2014 against an immensely difficult non-league slate.

Kevin Shuman completed 19 passes for 205 yards, but it was the Ranger ground game that found pay dirt. Juniors

Jhalen Spicer caught his first interception of the season in the end zone during the fourth quarter as senior
Noah Villasana led the team with six tackles. Seniors

Jesuit held Wylie without a score on its first drive of the game before a 27-yard completion to Whisler and 10-yard completion to reigning Ranger of the Week
Nick Hafertepe setup a one-yard touchdown run for Smith. A lightning strike delayed the game for 45 minutes after the initial touchdown as Jesuit returned to the field at 8:34 p.m. Campbell scored his first varsity touchdown on Jesuit's first drive after the delay, finding paydirt from 12-yards out to propel Jesuit to a 14-0 lead with 45 seconds remaining in the first.
Wylie looked poised to score its first points of the game after intercepting a pass, but the Jesuit defense forced a missed field goal fro 32 yards away to keep the shutout intact. The Rangers answered the missed field goal with a 10-play, 80-yard drive that took 4:28 and ended with an eight-yard touchdown rush for Shuman to propel Jesuit to a three-possession lead. Wylie would score prior to the end of the quarter to send Jesuit into the halftime break with a 21-7 lead.
The Ranger offense showed impressive patience on their first drive of the third quarter, marching 59 yards down the field on three plays before Taylor scored his first varsity touchdown on a three-yard run up the middle. Heckel beat a Wylie defender to the pylon for his first varsity touchdown, an 11-yard scamper to build the Jesuit lead to 35-7 with 4:22 remaining in the third.
In the fourth quarter, the Pirates attempted a late comeback, scoring a touchdown with 7:09 remaining before forcing a Jesuit turnover on a lost fumble. However, Spicer snagged his first varsity interception with 5:56 left in the contest to keep Wylie at bay until the final horn sounded.
Jesuit Dallas will next enter district competition, which begins on Friday against Plano West. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. from John Clark Stadium and will be broadcasted live on 770AM KAAM beginning with the LegacyTexas Pre-Game Show at 6:30 p.m.
