Jesuit Dallas hit 16 three-pointers and warded off a determined upset bid, defeating McKinney, 80-67, on Tuesday night at McKinney High School. With the victory, Jesuit is the lone undefeated team remaining in District 9-6A and have won three consecutive contests after the conclusion of the holiday break.

Max Abmas buried five three-pointers, closing the contest with 25 points. Sophomore
Gavin Perryman closed out the contest with 14 points, matching Abmas with a team-high six assists. Senior
Connor Wilson was a key difference maker for Jesuit on Tuesday night, shooting 4-for-4 from behind the arc to finish with 12 points. Junior
Darryl Brown secured seven rebounds, tying Abmas for the team lead in boards, while senior
Anthony Hollerich's 8-for-8 clip from the free-throw line sparked Jesuit to an 18-of-21 success rate from the charity stripe.

The Rangers hit 10-of-17 three pointers in the opening half, closing out the contest shooting 6-of-12 in the second half. McKinney's Byron Schoby scored 36 points on 12-of-22 shooting, but the Rangers held the Lions to 4-of-12 from three-point range in the second half while scoring seven second-chance points in the fourth quarter to help secure the win.

McKinney took a 10-3 lead out of the gate, opening the contest shooting 4-for-4 from the floor and 2-of-2 from behind the arc. Three straight three-pointers by Wilson swung momentum back in favor of the Rangers as Jesuit took its first lead of the game with 3:59 remaining in the first. Jesuit converted seven three-pointers in the opening quarter, but a jumper at the buzzer sent the two teams into the second tied, 21-21.

The two teams continued to battle through the second quarter, trading leads throughout the eight-minute period. A running jumper by Abmas gave the Rangers a two-point lead at halftime, capping a 13-point first half for the senior. Despite Schoby scoring 22 points in the first half, Jesuit's defense held the remaining Lions in check as the remainder of McKinney's lineup shot 4-of-11 from the floor and 1-of-5 from three-point range in the first half.

Another evenly-paced quarter between the two district foes sent the Rangers into the fourth quarter holding onto a slim, two-point lead. Jesuit began to pull away in a fourth quarter sparked by a three-pointer from Perryman 15 seconds into the period. With 5:47 remaining in the contest and the score tied, Jesuit began a game-changing, 21-7 run fueled by 17 consecutive made free-throws. The Rangers' success at the charity stripe, compounded by a McKinney scoring slump which lasted nearly four minutes, allowed Jesuit to pull away from the Lions down the stretch.

Jesuit will welcome Plano East to Walsh Gym on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff. The Panthers are 0-4 in district and 7-16 overall, entering the contest after a 69-60 setback to Plano West on Tuesday. Jesuit enters Friday's bout with an 8-0 record at home, most recently securing a 65-55 win over Plano last Saturday.
