Two goals by junior
Santiago Diaz put Jesuit in position for another key district win, but a persistent, sharp-shooting Highland Park squad defeated the Rangers, 5-2, on Thursday at the Richardson StarCenter. Jesuit remains in second place with 13 points despite the loss, holding a three-point advantage over Southlake Carroll heading into next Thursday's matchup against Allen.

Jack Rahlfs made 21 saves in goal for Jesuit, including nine saves in the first period to send Jesuit into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead. Diaz also led the team with 19 face-off wins as sophomore
Alec Rahlfs won 15-of-22 face-offs.

Highland Park turned the tables on the Rangers by scoring two power-play goals, and the Scots defense held Jesuit to three shots on two power play attempts. A four-goal swing in the second period put the Scots ahead for good as Jesuit didn't score until the 13:51 mark of the second period to snap the scoring run.

The Rangers will face Allen for the second time this season on Thursday. Junior Chase Need scored a go-ahead goal with nine seconds remaining in the third period to help Jesuit complete a late game comeback en route to a 5-4 win over Allen on Oct. 3 in the first meeting between the two teams. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at the StarCenter in Richardson.
