Jesuit Dallas scored a two-game sweep of Keller Timber Creek with a 7-1 win on Friday, Feb. 22 at Wright Field. Opening up the contest with four runs in the first inning, the Rangers scored a convincing victory with the aid of a stellar outing from junior
Ryan Messick, and a trio of key extra-base hits.

Messick allowed one run on three hits over four innings of work, striking out four batters. Senior
Quinn Bowring entered the game in relief, throwing two innings of no-hit work while striking out three batters. Senior
Marco Marrero led the charge with a 2-for-3 outing, launching one of Jesuit's two doubles alongside classmate
Jalon Mack. Sophomore
Connor Chavez launched his first career varsity triple as seniors

A triple by Chavez led off the bottom of the first inning before Woodson drove in the sophomore with a single to the second baseman. Reuben drove in Woodson with a sacrifice fly to center to increase the lead to two runs before Lawlar stole home base to make the lead 3-0. Senior
Cooper Shawl completed Jesuit's first inning with a sacrifice fly in foul territory, bringing Mack home to send the Blue and Gold into the second with a four-run advantage.

Messick continued a strong start to the game, striking out three of the next four batters to keep Timber Creek in check. Senior
Witt Chambers added a run in the second on a wild pitch after reaching on a single and advancing to third on a throwing error. The Falcons would snap the shutout with a run in the third inning, but the Rangers added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth after a sac fly by Lawlar scored Marrero and Chavez stole home after reaching base on a hit by pitch.

Bowring entered in the top of the fifth, striking out two of his first four batters faced to keep the lead intact. The senior would cap the win with another scoreless inning in the top of the sixth, snagging a comeback ground ball for the final out of the game.

Jesuit will conclude its opening weekend with a 7 p.m. clash with Little Elm on Saturday, Feb. 23. The Rangers will aim to end the four-game weekend with a 3-1 record and avenge a 5-1, nine-inning setback to Little Elm on Thursday, Feb. 21.
