A six-run deficit was too much to overcome for the Blue and Gold as Jesuit Dallas dropped an 11-1 district bout to McKinney Boyd on Mar. 19 at Wright Field. The Rangers scattered seven hits throughout the contest but were only able to plate one run to fall to 1-2 in district play ahead of Friday's bout at McKinney Boyd.

The Rangers would snap the early game scoring drought in the bottom of the third, capitalizing on a string of hits which started with a single up the middle by Houillion, who moved into scoring position after Chavez was hit by a pitch. Lawlar laced a single to left field, scoring Houillion to get the Rangers on the scoreboard for the first time in the ballgame.
Â
McKinney Boyd got on the board early as Tyler Collins kicked off the game with a lead-off home run to right center to spot the Broncos a 1-0 lead. Boyle singled with one out in the bottom of the inning for Jesuit's first baserunner of the game, but the Rangers came up empty in the frame to set up a two-run second for the Broncos, who scored two runs on three hits and one Jesuit error.
Â
Mack led off the bottom of the second with a single to third, but the Broncos cleared the bases with a double play on the next pitch. Boyd would continue the pressure, adding three runs on three hits in the top of the third to take a 7-0 lead before Jesuit scored its first run of the contest.
Â
After Houillion snapped the shutout bid, Boyd scored one run in the fourth and two in the fifth to take a nine-run lead, tacking on its final run of the contest in the sixth. The Rangers were unable to take advantage of a lead-off single in the bottom of the fourth, were retired in order during the fifth and couldn't cash in during the sixth with a runner in scoring position to conclude the contest.

Jesuit will aim to rebound on Friday as the Blue and Gold travel to McKinney to battle the Broncos. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. from McKinney Boyd H.S.
