Three double-digit scoring efforts by the Rangers kept the Blue and Gold within striking distance of the Plano Wildcats, but Plano was able to hold the Ranger rally at bay as Jesuit dropped a 65-58 decision to the Wildcats on Saturday at Plano H.S. In a game re-scheduled as a Saturday matinee due to inclement weather in the Metroplex, Jesuit held a lead in the first quarter but Plano came storming back behind 40 points in the paint and 14 offensive rebounds, which led to 10 second-chance points.

Darryl Brown led the Rangers in scoring with 20 points. Brown shot 6-of-15 from the floor and 8-of-13 from the free-throw line while securing a team-leading eight rebounds. Junior
Gavin Perryman added 17 points while junior
Cal Linn added 11 points. Junior
Shane Hatzmann led the team with four assists and tied Perryman for the team lead with two steals. Jesuit shot 42.2 percent from the floor and earned 26 trips to the free-throw line.

Plano opened the game shooting 5-of-8 from the floor, but the Rangers battled their way to nine free-throw shots to compliment a rough start from the floor as Jesuit held an 11-10 lead with 3;16 left in the first quarter. However, Plano closed the quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 16-11 advantage into the second quarter. Perryman started the second quarter with a three-pointer before the two teams traded buckets until Plano held a 20-17 lead with 5:02 left in the half.

Luke Lucido with 59 seconds remaining cut into the Plano lead and send Jesuit into halftime trailing, 29-22.

Linn buried a three-pointer for Jesuit's first bucket of the second half as an eight-point swing by the Rangers capped with a traditional three-point play by Brown drew the Rangers to within four points at 38-34 with 2:08 left in the third. Four unanswered points by Plano returned the Wildcats to an eight-point lead heading into the fourth. Jesuit cut the lead to four points at the 4:23 and 3:47 mark, but a near three-minute stretch that saw the Plano defense hold the Rangers without a bucket was enough to allow Plano the window to clinch the win.
