Eli Steger raced in for a go-ahead layup with 1.2 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, sending Jesuit Dallas past Plano West, 40-38, on Friday in Plano, Texas. The victory helps Jesuit snap a five-game losing streak heading into the season finale next Tuesday at home against McKinney Boyd.

Luke Lucido scored a season-best 11 points to lead the team in scoring, shooting 4-of-6 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point range. Senior

Brown threw down a dunk 50 seconds into the first quarter to open the scoring, but Plano West would build a four-point lead with 48 seconds remaining before a Simons three-pointer sent Jesuit into the second quarter trailing, 6-5. Plano West would hang onto the lead throughout the second quarter, taking a 19-15 lead into halftime.

Roy buried a three-pointer to jumpstart the Rangers in the third, as Linn tied the game with 5:40 remaining in the quarter before a jumper by Perryman gave Jesuit the lead. A buzzer-beating layup sent the game into the fourth quarter tied, 25-25. Jesuit took a four-point lead with five minutes remaining after a pair of critical three-pointers by Lucido and held a five-point lead with 51 seconds left after Brown buried a jumper. West hit two free-throws to tie the game, setting the stage for Jesuit's last-second heroics.

Perryman took the ball over the timeline with 10 seconds remaining, then faked a drive to the rim to open the baseline. Steger took advantage of the opening, and Perryman found a cutting Steger for the go-ahead basket with 1.2 seconds left. Steger would then steal Plano West's last-second inbound pass to seal the victory.

The Rangers will close the season on Tuesday against the Broncos as Jesuit will host senior night at Walsh Gymnasium. The basketball program's five seniors, Brown, Lucido, Steger, Simons and senior manager Liam McColgan will be recognized alongside the senior members of the Jesuit Dallas cheerleading squad in a ceremony set to begin after the conclusion of the 6 p.m. junior varsity gold game. Tip-off for Friday's contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
