Jesuit dropped two district games over the past week, falling to Prosper, 1-0, at Postell Stadium on Tuesday before suffering a 2-0 setback to Allen on Friday. The Rangers will head into a Feb. 4 clash with Plano with a 1-3-0 record in district play, hoping to snap a three-game skid after a resounding, 5-1 effort against Plano West on Jan. 21 which started league play for the Blue and Gold.
Â
Prosper scored in the 78th minute to derail a strong effort by the Rangers, who outshot the Eagles, 14-10. Seniors
Diego Sierra and
Renin Seely led the charge with four shots on goal apiece while junior
Ryan Shea tallied the Rangers' final shot on target. Senior
Tom Jubin made three saves in the second half to help keep the door open for the Rangers before Prosper was able to sneak one by late in the second half.
Â
Allen scored in the eighth minute to take an early lead, and the Eagles' defense limited Jesuit to only four total shots and one shot on goal, recorded by Sierra. Jubin and classmate
Parker Christensen recorded two saves each in goal to pace the Rangers defensively.
Â
Jesuit will host Plano on Tuesday before traveling to McKinney for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Friday.
