The Rangers split their second day in College Station, defeating Temple, 9-0 before dropping an 11-4 decision to Lake Creek. Moving to 2-2 on the year ahead of Saturday's tournament-closing double header, Jesuit saw junior
Clayton Jackson throw the team's first shutout of the season as the Ranger sluggers stayed hot in the early portion of the 2020 campaign.

Jackson struck out 11 batters and threw a complete game three-hitter, only walking one hitter during the six-inning, run-rule victory. Junior
Jordan Lawlar hit two doubles against Temple, finishing the game 3-for-4 from the plate with three RBI. Senior
JT Ennen drove in two runs, senior
Jalon Mack added a triple and classmate
Jake Koger as Jesuit racked up 11 total hits.

Similar to Thursday's convincing, 14-2 win over Strake Jesuit, the Rangers jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the first inning. A two-run double by Lawlar and two-run single by Ennen spotted Jesuit the four-run advantage before a run-scoring triple by Mack and single to left by senior
Tyson Pointer put the Rangers up 6-0. Jesuit scored two more in the fourth and one in the fifth to cap another strong performance.

Lake Creek took an 11-0 lead by the fourth inning as Jesuit scored four runs in the top of the fifth but were held away from the lead. Seniors
Braxton Boyle,
Tyson Pointer and junior
Gavin Perryman drove in runs as Perryman launched his first triple of the season. Junior
David Day started on the mound, striking out five hitters over 3.1 innings of work. Juniors
George Austin and
JJ Luna entered the game for relief appearances.

Perryman's triple down the left field line plated sophomore
Cash Riley for Jesuit's first run of the nightcap. Perryman came home on a popup by Pointer before Boyle drove Koger home on a single to right. Senior
Tino Ramirez scored Jesuit's final run on a passed ball.

Jesuit will close the tournament on Saturday with games against Lufkin and College Station. Jesuit will battle the Panthers at 11 a.m. on Saturday at A&M Consolidated before traveling to College Station H.S. for a 4 p.m. showdown with the Cougars.
