Soccer Celebrates Senior Night Despite Setback to Allen

Jesuit Dallas celebrated the nine senior members of the soccer program prior to Friday night's showdown with Allen as the Rangers saw a one-goal lead dissipate late to a determined Eagle offense in a 2-1 setback at Postell Stadium. With three games remaining in the regular season, Jesuit is tied with Plano East for fifth place in the district and trail fourth-place McKinney Boyd by three points.

Junior Benton Bacile scored Jesuit's lone goal of the contest on a penalty kick, converting the penalty in the 48th minute to give the Rangers a one-goal lead. Allen countered with a goal quickly after Bacile's goal, then scored the go-ahead tally in the 61st minute. Jesuit narrowly outshot Allen, 13-12, and were able to procure five corner kicks compared to two by Allen. The Eagles provided Jesuit 15 free kicks off of fouls as the Rangers only committed eight fouls and two fouls in the second half.

Senior Diego Sierra placed two shots on target with four total shots while junior Jason Davis took three shots, including one shot on goal. Senior Stratton Ross took two shots as fellow fourth year Parker Christensen made three saves in goal.

Jesuit will next play Plano at John Clark Stadium on Mar. 3, hoping to complete a season sweep of the Wildcats following a 1-0 win on Feb. 4. The Rangers' final home game of the year will take place on Tuesday, Mar. 17 as Jesuit will host McKinney at 7:30 p.m. on Mar. 17.
